After midnight

Today was a long day at work but to be expected, nothing new.  After work, I went to go see my girlfriend, though I knew it would only be for a short time....she's a high school teacher and needs to get up early in the morning to prepare for her day.  She's awesome.  She does it for all the right reasons, to right the wrongs, to give back, to help the helpless.  She doesn't do it for weekends off and long summers (but she sure as hell doesn't mind those...she's earned them).  I felt lucky to see her tonite.  She was tired but affectionate none the less.  Wearing a t shirt and sweat pants, she was still beautiful and held my hand while talking about our day, today.  There's a lot more intangible stuff I could add here but I'll do it later, I'll add the chapters at another time. 

The reason I keep this site/blog/website is for me...it's like my diary.  My earliest entry dates way back.  I like to look back on it from time to time, to remember stuff.  It's not monetized at all, strictly for my entertainment purposes only.  Lostnoiz.com will never be a hot site but that's not it's purpose.  It's for me and if you know me, I'll let you see it.  With that in mind, I've never written about my significant others here but now I am.

When I got home, I felt compelled to create a picture for her....maybe a meme or something like that.  Last Sunday, we went out together and took pictures at the local arboretum.  I was to take one of these pictures and mate it to a quote...add the text to a picture we took together or something like that.  I went straight to google to search out this text.  What would the search require?  New love?  I quickly realized that I couldn't find anything suitable for my needs.  Everything that came up was so....so unsuitable.  Everything came off as cheesy. 

I'm going to have to write this one out.  Nothing can accurately explain how I feel about her appropriately that has already been written...it's either too simple or not enough, no where near complete.  I'm going to have to find the words myself....and they damn well better be correct, she's an English teacher.  This is going to be a challenge but a worthy one, I've always had visual talents but written word, not so much.  This girl is awesome though, I'm sure the words will come to me.

That all being said, Happy Halloween!  I just noticed the date during my preview!

October 28th

Last Sunday, my girlfriend and I went to the Arboretum here in Wilmington.  Turns out, we're both well into photography (as well as many other things).  Below are some of the better shots I got that day.....enjoy!

Thursday around noon

Good news is that hurricane Florence has been downgraded to a category 2.  I slept in...havent gotten much sleep lately...and woke up to a wonderful, windy morning.  First time I've been able to sit on the deck in months without burning up.   The wind continues to pick up but nothing crazy.  I took the bottles off of my gazebo as a precaution...don't want bottles flying thru the air.  The cats haven't seemed to notice a thing.

At work yesterday, we closed at 4 pm.  I'm going to start cooking some stuff in case I lose power.  So far so good...

Tuesday before the storm

Beautiful weather.  Businesses starting to close...even Wal Mart...but we're open!  Pretty much everyone I work with has called out for tomorrow...looking like it's just going to be me.  Our store isn't that crazy busy though...a lot of residents are evacuating.  They've boarded up the store front.   Going to stay here as long as necessary.  

Damn, it's still so hot.

Forecast is as bad as possible..potentially a category 5...super nasty.  I'm still staying put.  Just bought some more apocalypse food, just in case....this is getting expensive.

Hurricane Florence is approaching

For many of you , you are aware that there is a fairly nasty hurricane headed towards Wilmington,  NC.  I thought I might use this blog to document what my personal experiences are while going thru this...I'm gonna ride it out.  Today, I filled the gas tank up, bought a few batteries (already had some candles), got an extra propane tank, started filling a cooler with ice from the ice maker, etc.
When out and about, the traffic is getting hectic.  The hurricane is all over facebook.  I tend to not worry so much about stuff like this...i work in the grocery business and it doesn't take much to get people panicked into buying stuff...seems like a marketing scam really...brought to you by the weather channel.
I'm scheduled to work all day tomorrow and everyday until Sunday...the hurricane is projected to hit Thursday I believe...this ought to be pretty awful.

Today is hot and sunny.  Brief showers earlier and no real wind.  It's just hot as hell.  This is a complete experiment and I may lose interest..we'll see...mainly depends on how easy it is for me to update.

The pictures at the top are from right now, minus the one with me and my cat (Noser)...its from last night.  I'm charging up my good camera as I type this...we'll see how this goes.
